Volunteers make a significant difference in the lives of the children and staff at Ashland Child Development Center. Help from our volunteers allows us to provide a top-quality program for our children.

If you enjoy working with children and helping in the community, we would love to have your help!

Our programs are divided into the following age groups:


When working with children, Ashland Child Development Center requires all volunteers to have a tuberculosis screening and a background check. Once you have completed these requirements, you will work alongside one of our staff.


Below are some of the opportunities available for volunteers:

  • Reading to groups or individual children
  • Tutoring elementary children
  • Chaperoning field trips
  • Teaching music or art skills
  • Helping the kitchen staff
  • Leading physical fitness activities
  • Planning and overseeing special activities, such as "Bring a Grandparent to Lunch" or "Teddy Bear Day."
  • Helping with office tasks, including filing, copying, answering phones or computer data entry
  • Serving on the Board of Trustees find out more information on volunteering.
